Cleaner Gallery + Projects is a contemporary art gallery in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood. Starting off as artist studios with a window gallery, Cleaner now houses 2 galleries showing contemporary solo and group shows. We are committed to exhibiting artists who want to put on serious shows. We still have artist studios and a half pipe.

Allen Moore

The Black Glo-Liath: In Blood We Rust, new works by Allen Moore. Allen Moore is a Black Interdisciplinary Visual Artist, Experimental Turntableist, Sound Artist, Educator, and Youth Mentor born and raised in the Historic Village of Robbins IL. Moore holds a Bachelors of Arts from Chicago State University, a Masters in Arts from Governors State University, and a Masters of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University in 2016. His recent body work investigates both the audio and visual element of black death and black grief. His conceptual premise is to analyze the signifiers of Blackness through performative Improvisation and experimentation. Moore is driven to nurture and expand the agency of the Black Imagination. Moore has exhibited and performed across the greater midwest, including exhibitions at Tritriangle, Heaven Gallery, Compound Yellow, Experimental Sound Studio, Elastic Arts, Threewalls, The Museum of Contemporary Art, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Roots & Culture Gallery, Lula Cafe, The Star Media Group, Union Street Gallery, The Museum of Science and Industry Chicago, etc.

Kelsea Nichols

Out of Place, Out of Sorts, new works by Kelsea Nichols. Kelsea Nichols is currently living and working in Birmingham, Alabama, and holds the position of Program Coordinator for the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Nichols received her MFA from Northern Illinois University in 2017 and her BFA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014. Nichols is an artist with concentrations in both printmaking and sculpture, but she works within various non-traditional mediums and is not media specific in her practice. Nichols has shown nationally and received multiple awards in group exhibitions such as Delta National Small Prints Exhibition in Jonesboro, Arkansas, PRINTAUSTIN in Austin, Texas, ARC Gallery, and Zhou B Art Center both in Chicago, Illinois. Nichols has shown work multiple times (group and solo exhibitions) at Cleaner Gallery + Projects in Chicago, Illinois. She has taught classes and workshops in both printmaking and sculpture.Most recently Nichols was a guest artist at Pigeonhole Press (Chicago, Illinois) where she produced a multicolor etching informed by ancient celestial events. Earth, color, pattern, and humor are common themes within her work, and she is currently working on a body of work influenced by the land, the paranormal, occultism, and esoteric thought.
