Elephant Room Gallery opened in Chicago's South Loop Neighborhood 2009 with a mission to focus on local, new, emerging and under-represented artists. Through their diverse roster and uniquely intimate space, the gallery has become an exciting hub for up and coming artists, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere of accessibility for artists, collectors and the broader community. The gallery also offers artist assistance, management, and consulting services for both individuals and corporations.
Jennifer Cronin is known for her uncanny realism from her large scale figurative oil paintings to her meticulous pencil drawings. Over the past few years, her work has moved into a magical realm of neon colors, mysterious shapes and luminism. Her latest body of work in “Star Stuff” takes inspiration from the night sky, finding pieces of cosmic mystery in our everyday landscapes. Even though the work is dark, it is not sad or complacent. It invokes a connection to something outside of ourselves: distant galaxies, the passage of time, and the mystery of our existence. “Star Stuff” is about all of us: where we are from, where we are and where we are going. For Cronin, this work is a reflection of her growth as an artist and as a human being.
Elephant Room Gallery is thrilled to present another group exhibition at Beverly Phono Mart, celebrating their 3 Year Anniversary! The record shop is located at 1808 W 103rd St. in Chicago.
Elevated features artists who push themselves within their artistic practice through experimentation of materials, poignant subject matter, and demonstrate self awareness resulting in a recognizable body of work. Artists include Anthony Bartley, Chantala Kommanivanh, Cujo Dah, Delisha, ELLOO, Ish Muhammad, Le Panther, Lo Marie, Morgan Nicolette and Tianna Bracey. Guests can visit the exhibition during the record shop's normal business hours.
