Eugene Fu is the founder and principal broker of one of Chicago’s top residential real estate groups within @properties Christie’s International. He has been an avid collector for 15 years, rethinking collecting for the 21st century by acquiring challenging works across all mediums, including sound works, installations, and multi-channel video. His collection focuses on the themes of memory, time, ephemerality, and the complexities of the human condition. Fu is one of the first American collectors to acquire international artists such as Emeka Ogboh, Latifa Echakhch, Bronwyn Katz, and Sung Tieu. He also has works by Paul Sepuya, Robert Rauschenberg, Jennie C. Jones, Gertrude Abercrombie, Jes Fan, Gary Hill, and Paul Stephens Benjamin, among others. He regularly lends works to institutions globally, most notably, the Venice Biennale in 2019. Fu is currently the Chair of Emerge at the MCA Chicago and a member of the Society of Contemporary Art at the Art Institute of Chicago.
